Welcome to Day 09!

Welcome to Day Nine!

We've been leading up to this day with eight newsletters full of foundational teaching for you. Today we add "good manners" exercises in the Training For Success articles on the website! Today's lesson is how to teach your puppy to sit on your cue.

As an additional aid for your training sessions, check out today's Perfect Puppy column on "Tips for Successful Training Sessions."

Another big addition to the MyPetTrainer.com newsletters is the start of our Kids & Puppies column. With every newsletter now, all the children in your life like your own, your grand kids, neighbor's, friend's and relative's kids will be able to take part in learning how to communicate with and teach your puppy using safe Positive Reinforcement techniques! We start this wonderful column with the, "Rules of Dog Safety" to get everyone off on the right foot, uh paw, no foot.

Understanding My Pet today will also contribute to your successful communications and teachings with your puppy. We introduce you to "The Three D's of Dog Training" in today's article, giving you a bird's eye view of this learning process, "The Three D's of Dog Training # 1 – Introduction." Then, for the next three upcoming newsletters, we'll take an in‑depth look at each step of that process. You will learn how to combine the teaching steps of duration, then distractions, and finally distance.

In the Socialization For Today column, "Wet Lawn" learn how to beat the woes of wet lawn. Most puppies hate the feel of wet lawn and they resist stepping on it. Weather happens, rain soaks, sprinklers saturate, and snow falls. Your puppy needs to get used to wet lawn!

Please enjoy your Day Nine newsletter! We'd love to be your source for all things dog!

Together in success,
The staff of MyPetTrainer.com
