A new study by the University of Colorado School of Medicine shows that unsupervised children are at most risk for a dog bite from the family dog. Sixty-eight percent of the dog bites were on children younger than five years old with the highest concentration in three year olds! Let's discuss this further in Understanding Your Pet, "Unsupervised Children at Most Risk for Dog Bites."

Your dog walks by you with a shoe dangling from her mouth. You try to take it from her and she runs away! You haven't yet taught her "drop it" or "leave it" so now you're in a pickle. That's your daughter's new shoe and you want to get it from her before she shreds it! What to do? Try these ideas … and then start today to teach her "drop it" and "leave it—both are in the Training For Success column. Learn more in this week's Training For Success column, "When Your Dog is a Bandit."

Hiccups? Sure, dogs get hiccups! Is this something to worry about? It might be depending on the circumstances. Let's take a look at doggie hiccups in this week's Perfect Pet column, "My Dog Has Hiccups."
